Rulmeca Offers On-Site Training for Motorized Pulley Users |
|
Rulmeca Corporation presented on-site classes at numerous foundries, steel mills, and ship loading ports for Motorized Pulley users in 2007. The 1.5 hour class covers "Installation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting" techniques for operations and maintenance personnel.
BNSF RR Allouez Dock : Rulmeca offered training to operations and maintenance staff at the BNSF ore dock near Superior, WI in June 2007. The facility now has 9 large Motorized Pulleys (100HP & 120HP) handling taconite pellets on the terminal's three crawler-mounted bucket wheel reclaimers.
CN RR Escanaba Taconite Dock : Rulmeca's Mike Gawinski and Roger Meittunen of EDS take a break from the busy end user training schedule to visit the CN Railroad taconite iron ore terminal at Escanaba, Michigan. The terminal's Bucket Wheel Reclaimer was fitted with two 200 HP Rulmeca Motorized Pulleys in 1985 and moved 170 million tons of ore since then.
Various Mines and Processing Plants : At the request of several steel mills, Rulmeca presented installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting classes in April 2007. Iron ore pellets, sinter, and coke are handled by Rulmeca Motorized Pulley - driven conveyor belts inside the mills and in outside storage areas.
Steel Foundries : The Motorized Pulley User training program was initially developed for a large US foundry which has been using Rulmeca Motorized Pulleys since the mid-1980's (see photo.) The February classes, offered at 6:00am (to cover night & day shisfts) and 3:00pm (to cover afternoon shift) was well-received by dozens of participants.
Lecture and Hands-on Demonstration : Operations personnel appreciated the "hands-on" segment in the training. "Removing the mystery from Motorized Pulleys is an essential part of the class," said Nathan Wells, Sales Engineer. "We spend a lot of time explaining how the internal motor and gearbox work. Enclosing them within the pulley shell seems complicated, but it isn't." |
